Hi there, I find that using old fashioned soap and water to cleanse bottom rather than wipes help. Wipes are usually alcohol based and dry the skin out. Then a barrier cream like Sudocream does the trick and will leave little bottoms looking pink and healthy! Let me know how you get on.

We have tried what seems to be a million different treatments for nappy rash but a friend recommended an unusual cure & it actually worked - egg white! We dont even use soap when washing his bum,as he gets nappy rash so easily, also we cant use sudocream as he is allergic to it! We now use zinc & caster oil cream (from boots) after each nappy change. Thanks for the advice!xx.

Hi there, my son is exactly the same. The only cream ive come across, that works wonders, is called Drapoline. It works wonders. Its a oil free cream. Its not expensive, such like Bepanthem which doesn't work for me, and sudocream. I normally just stick to Tescos own Nappy Cream and its excellent. Try also drying your son's bottom after you have cleaned him.
Hope this helps, and tell me what you think of the cream. Anelise

Hi,

When I used pampers my first son bottom used to get sore all the time so I changed to huggies and since then all 3 of my children have had no problems - maybe the chemicals in the nappies don't suit him. I use vasaline all the time and when need use sudocream.

Maybe you should try cutting down also in fruit with acid especially oranges, pineapple and anything with tomatoes and look out for any foods with citric acid.

You could put a natural emollient on his bottom which would be cooling

Get a pop sock and put a fist of oats into it and tie a knot, pour boiling water over it and leave until cool and squeeze the pop sock and look and all the natural emollient pouring out - you can put into the bath and use sock as soap or just put some on his bottom.

I hope this helps.

Hi, my son had terrible nappy rash where it even hurt to change his bum, it was so sore. I found that the only cream that worked was E45 cream in the tub, its about £8.00 from Boots but well worth it.
