One great game is '5 moustaches' where the first person to spot 5 drivers with a 'tache' wins a prize. It's something they can do when they're really little and know nothing about cars. You can also do 5 red cars, blue cars, or whatever!

*Do bingo. Prepare a sheet of words (or pictures for the younger ones) that describe things your child will see as you travel. So, church, red bus, cyclist (or runway, air steward, trolley) and get the kids to tick off each one when they see them. First one to find all wins!

*Let them dress up. It makes any waiting around at the airport/port more fun. Plus, if you lose sight of them, you can always ask someone if they have seen Spiderman/a cowboy/a pirate!
